TDK Lambda EMS 80-60-2 Power Supply

The TDK Lambda EMS 80-60-2 Power Supply includes protective features like overvoltage, over-temperature, and overcurrent. This model also incorporates front panel controls and remote analog resistance, voltage and current programming, and an embedded IEEE/RS231. This model’s maximum voltage output is 80 V and the maximum current output is 60 A.

The EMS 80-60-2 has a single-phase TCR and SCR phase control that manages the input AC voltage of the power transformer. This is achieved by controlling the firing angle of the SCRs with a feedback loop that tests the output voltage and current. The voltage output of the power supply is amended and filtered to produce a stable DC control power that is client adjustable.

In this unit, a two phase half wave controlled SCR circuit may be utilized to control the AC input voltage of the essential transformer T1. Two pulse transformers disconnect the gate signal of the two SCRs, so they are not activated at the same time. The precise position of the fractional sinusoidal wave produced by the "firing" of every SCR controls the energy accessible to the power transformer T1. The means of determining the position and width of the sinusoidal wave corresponds to the communication of the SCRs and the proportional control framework. At load currents that permit L1 to remain "critical" (continuous current flow), the filter averages the voltage waveform in the input of the filter.
